Youth Program Facilitator – Queanbeyan Palerang Region & Southern Tablelands

The Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre is a dynamic regional organisation that delivers a comprehensive range of business and educational services in the southern region of NSW and the ACT.

We are seeking a Program Facilitator to join our team to deliver our “Links to Learning” program in the centres of Queanbeyan, Braidwood and Goulburn..

This role will involve program delivery to groups of young people (12 to 16 years of age) who are disengaged from their learning, in an effort to improve their education, employment and life outcomes.  This position will involve travel to each school on a weekly basis throughout the school year.

We are looking for someone who relates well to young people and has experience in working with young people at risk in group settings, in either the education or youth sector.

The successful applicant must hold a current Working with Children clearance or be eligible to obtain one, and hold a current driver’s licence.

This is a full-time position and includes a business laptop and a mobile phone. Salary up to $60,000 per annum full-time.

Selection Criteria:

1) Demonstrate your ability to communicate and relate to young people and other key stakeholders (schools and local community).

2) Demonstrate your ability to deliver programs and work with young people to improve their education, employment and life outcomes.

3) Demonstrate your ability to collaborate and work with regional stakeholders and explain your understanding of regional issues for young people.

4) Demonstrate your ability to work with minimal supervision to set priorities and meet deadlines to achieve results.

Essential requirements of the position:

  • Be able to relate well to young people and possess the skills necessary to work with students at risk, with challenging behaviours and complex issues.
  • Experience in working with young people, in group settings, in either the education or youth sector
  • Ability to hold a current Working with Children clearance
  • Hold a current drivers licence
  • Well-established local networks/ability to develop networks within local communities
  • Well-developed communication skills

Desirable Attributes

  • Qualification in Education and/or Youth work
  • Well-established local networks/ability to develop networks within local communities
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • ASCIA Anaphylaxis e-training
  • NSW DEC on-line child protection awareness training
  • NSW DEC on-line Disability Standards training

If the successful applicant does not hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate; and/or has not completed ASCIA Anaphylaxis e-training, NSW DEC on-line child protection awareness training, and NSW DEC on-line Disability Standards training, these must be completed before program delivery can commence.

Salary Range: Up to $60,000 per annum full-time
